  • Also known as Attenborough's Pitcher Plant

  • One of the largest carnivorous plants

  • Named after Richard Attenborough,naturalist and carnivorous plant enthusiast

  • Founded by Alastair Robinson, Stewart McPherson and Volker Heinrich in 2007 and formally published their findings in 2009

  • It was recently discovered on Mt Victoria in Palawan, Philippines!!

  • Its pitchers can hold 1.5 - 2L of water

  • Its pitcher contains rainwater at the top and insect dissolving enzymes in the bottom

  • It can devour rodents (second photo)!!
